Just as ChatGPT dramatically increased the standard of baseline acceptable writing, Google’s Nano Banana will increase the standards that consumers have for visualization. It is so easy to use and so powerful that I expect that over time consumers will just expect that everything has some form of visual.

Beyond that, the model also disrupts existing visual intelligence software because it makes it relatively easy to generate things like slides, storyboards, or product UIs. They aren’t all that great, but for many quick use cases, they are good enough. Over the coming years, more and more of our presentations will be generated, while those select few that are hand-crafted will have to be significantly better to stand out.

The model is still early however. You have to know how to prompt it to really get the results I’m talking about.
